If you want to study degree courses in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences and circumstances have prevented you from realising your academic potential, this is an opportunity not to miss. This innovative route is designed for a new field of candidates to help them realise their academic potential through a full-time, residential programme fully embedded in the Collegiate University.
The course is open to those who can meet our academic entry requirements (120 UCAS Points) and who can meet our eligibility criteria. Those who are in the UK as asylum seekers, who have Refugee or Humanitarian Status are eligible to be considered for this programme of study.
Student we admit to our programme receive a generous non-repayable scholarship to pay for living costs, and are not charged any tuition fees for the Foundation Year.
On the Cambridge Foundation Year, you can expect a challenging academic curriculum in the arts, humanities and social sciences. This offers the best possible preparation for the rigours of a Cambridge degree course by broadening and deepening your knowledge and understanding as well as introducing you to the ways students learn at Cambridge. Foundation Year students will also benefit from being part of the University, including being part of a College community and having full access to all the University’s societies and facilities to pursue your interests.
Finally, you will get a nationally recognised Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education and upon finishing the course you will have the option to continue to a number of suitable undergraduate degree courses at Cambridge.

During the admissions process, we run monthly webinars to support applicants through the application process. On the programme, students have access to a wide range of pastoral support offered by the University of Cambridge. Financial support is at a level designed to cover living costs for residence in Cambridge during your studies.

Candidates must apply via UCAS to the programme by the January deadline of the year they wish to commence study. Following us receiving this application, they must fill in a follow up questionnaire to provide evidence of eligibility and other information to support their application. Candidates are shortlisted, and shortlisted candidates are invited to complete an online admissions assessment and online interviews.
