Sanctuary fee waiver for online Occupational English Test (OET) preparation programme for health professionals
About this opportunity
The University of Leicester is offering up to 40 sanctuary scholarships per year on its Occupational English Test (OET) Programme. This is a three-week intensive online course which runs 4 times per year. It is for qualified healthcare professionals who have achieved at least IELTS 6.0 and need to receive IELTS 7.0 or 7.5 as a part of the requalification process to work in the UK

This course is not exactly equivalent to a university level – is a medical English programme for healthcare professionals wishing to requalify in the UK. We can accept students who have an IELTS equivalent of 6.0

Asylum seeker, Refugee, Humanitarian protection, Limited or Discretionary Leave to Remain, Indefinite Leave to Remain, Ukraine or Afghan Schemes, Other forms of sanctuary (including Calais Leave, Section 67 Leave, UASC leave and Stateless Leave), Other
Other eligibility criteria
Some other immigration statuses may be accepted if the student has a history of forced migration. We will judge these on a case-by-case basis
Additional notes about eligibility criteria
In addition, applicants: must already be a qualified health professional from outside the UK; must have a level of English of IELTS 6.0 or higher; must have the aim of taking the OET exam in order to requalify to practise in the UK
