About this opportunity

The Ukraine Sanctuary Scholarship is a full tuition fee waiver for each year of study (3 in total for UG and 1 year in total for PGT). There will be a cash bursary to help with study costs. There will be a welcome pack containing helpful leaflets, and key items such as a laptop, given to each student once they have enrolled at the university. There is no commitment from the university to cover your accommodation fees.

Additional notes about eligibility criteria

Applicants for the Ukraine Sanctuary Scholarship will need to hold one of the following visa status’:

  • A UK visa under the Ukraine Family Scheme, or
  • A UK visa under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, or
  • A UK Visa under the Ukraine Extension Scheme.

The applicant will also need to have:

  • A conditional or firm offer from the University of Southampton for September 2023 entry
  • Be classed as a home student due to visa status (as detailed above)
  • Been attending a school, college, or voluntary group which can provide a reference in support of your application
  • Evidence to the satisfaction of the University that your visa status is correct.

Additional details about application process

Preference will be given to students who meet the following:

  • Live a commutable distance to the University of Southampton campus (ideally the one that hosts the offered programme of study for most of the time)
  • Studying their 1st degree (for UG applicants)
  • Studying their 1st PGT programme (for PG applicants)

We will still consider applications from those outside a commutable distance.
