About this opportunity
For the 2023/24 academic year, the University of Bath will offer one Undergraduate Scholarship.
Scholarships are for full time undergraduate applicants who are seeking asylum in the UK, and who are not able to access UK Government Student Finance (tuition fee loans or maintenance loans/grants) by virtue of their immigration status.
We will cover your fees and help with additional costs with a bursary of up to £5000. This could include for example books, IT equipment, travel costs or other costs that help you to study effectively.
You’ll also get personal one to one support to help identify and overcome barriers to achievement on your course.

Additional notes about eligibility criteria
You must also:
1. Have been offered a place (conditional or unconditional) on an undergraduate programme at the University of Bath (having applied through UCAS) before applying for the Sanctuary Award.

2. If an offer is conditional, the conditions of the offer of a place must be met (e.g. academic and English language qualifications).
3. Not require additional support from the University for living expenses or accommodation.
4. Be living in the UK.
We do not expect you to decide on your firm choice until after interviews have been held.
You will be a new undergraduate student starting studies in 2023.
Priority will be given to applicants who already live within an hour commuting distance from the University of Bath campus.

If you have applied for an undergraduate course and have declared that you have refugee status on your UCAS form, we will contact you inviting you to apply. If you haven’t declared your status on your UCAS form, you can still apply for a scholarship if you think you are eligible, but you must have submitted an application to study at the University of Bath. Once you have received your offer, please download and fill in the application form below. Then email the application form to studentsuccess@bath.ac.uk.
