About this opportunity

The University of Warwick was awarded University of Sanctuary status in 2017 and has since that time offered financial support to sanctuary seeking students, to enable them to pursue higher education.

We offer three postgraduate taught scholarships of:

  • A non-repayable 100% tuition fee waiver.
  • A non-repayable maintenance stipend in line with UKRI rates.

Eligibility

Asylum seeker, Refugee status, Humanitarian protection, Temporary refugee permission, Limited or Discretionary Leave to Remain (private/family life)

Additional notes about eligibility criteria

Eligible students must be of any nationality who hold one of the following statuses as granted by the UK government:

  • Refugee Status
  • Asylum Seeker
  • Definite Leave to Remain as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • Limited Leave to Remain as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • Humanitarian protection as a result of an asylum seeker application
  • You were included as a dependent (spouse/child) on an application for asylum. Please note: Spouses/civil partners must have been the spouse/civil partner on the date on which the asylum application was made. Children/step-children must have been aged under 18 on the date on which the asylum application was made.

What is included in this opportunity?

  • Fee Waiver (no fees)
  • Full bursary (study costs and full living costs)

  1. Submit your admission application
  2. Receive your 7-digit applicant ID number and create your IT account
  3. Submit your scholarship application.
  4. Results will be communicated usually within 10 weeks of submitting your scholarship application.
